Support Indian Trails in USA Today’s "10Best Readers’ Choice" Contest

Last year, your votes named Indian Trails the No. 1 bus service in America in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. It's a recognition we've carried proudly down every road since.

Now we're back on the ballot for 2026, the only Michigan bus company in the running. That spot reflects what our team has built over 116 years: a fleet shaped around safer travel, cleaner engines and the comfort that turns a long trip into a good one, in service of nearly 1 million riders a year across 80 towns in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

We'd be honored by your support.

You are permitted to cast one vote every day through June 15.

Employee Spotlight:
 Heather Wyatt, Motorcoach Operator

Meet Heather Wyatt. There’s a good chance she’s played a role in keeping your trip on track.

It started with a conversation. A close friend suggested Heather Wyatt try something new, and she did, applying for a driver position at Indian Trails. "I decided to challenge myself to make my life better and move outside my comfort zone," she says.

Nearly five years later, she's glad she listened. "It turns out, I love this job. The time has just flown by."

A Flint native who's called Owosso home for 14 years, Heather came to

Driver Heather Wyatt (2)

Indian Trails with no commercial driving experience and plenty of nerves on her first day of training. She still credits former Safety Director Becky Smith for walking her through it. "She was absolutely amazing. I just paid attention and took every bit of advice she had, including to think of braking as slowly squishing a marshmallow."

These days, Heather sometimes rides along with new drivers herself, passing on what she learned. Ask her what gets her going at the start of a shift, and the answer is easy: the people. "Our number one priority is to get people safely to their destination. It's a bonus for me to meet all sorts of different folks, and I love the banter with our regulars."

What's kept her here, she says, is the team. "I love driving and I love the company, especially the camaraderie and how everyone here treats each other with respect and kindness. It makes you want to go above and beyond."
