Winter Weather Updates
March in the Midwest can feel more like winter than spring, but that doesn't have to slow your travel plans. The Indian Trails bus tracker app gives you real-time updates right from your phone, and if you'd rather talk to someone, our customer service team is available seven days a week, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. at 989-725-5105.
On the rare occasion that a route needs to be canceled, you'll know right away.
Cancellations are posted to our website, and route alerts go out as soon as possible.
If you included a phone number when purchasing your ticket, we'll call you directly.
For travelers already on a route when conditions change, we'll provide food and lodging at a nearby location, and we'll fully refund your ticket or reissue it for a later travel date.
From real-time tracking to round-the-clock support, Indian Trails is ready for whatever March brings, so you can focus on the journey.
Pack Minimally, Travel Efficiently
Packing your suitcase is very rarely the most exciting part of any upcoming trip, and with your thoughts focused on the fun times you have ahead, you might find yourself packing anything and everything in anticipation of what could happen. Pack minimally for your travel bag so that you can cut down on baggage fees and save space to bring home a few souvenirs. Watch this video to get 11 tips on how you can pack efficiently for your next trip.
If you still find yourself needing a little extra space for all your essentials, Indian Trails is here for you. Every rider is allowed one carry-on bag and one free bag stowed in the bus luggage compartment, in addition to either a purse or laptop. If you anticipate a long trip, Indian Trails allows each rider to purchase space for up to three additional stowed bags, with each additional bag costing a flat $15.

Doug Hamlin's path to Indian Trails began with a conversation on a bus. After years of driving big rigs for commercial trucking companies, Doug was ready for something different. A chance chat with an Indian Trails driver pointed him in the right direction, and he never looked back. This month, Doug celebrates 15 years behind the wheel, including four with Michigan Flyer. Before joining Indian Trails, Doug served six years in the U.S. Army, driving nearly every vehicle imaginable and serving at notable posts like the Korean
Demilitarized Zone and Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. That experience shaped the disciplined, people-first approach he brings to work every day.
Doug is known for mentoring new drivers, reminding them to trust their mirrors and stay ahead of the road. He also offers some wisdom straight from his farm roots near Owosso: "You've got to stack that luggage like you were baling hay." Outside of work, he collects vinyl records, with more than 1,000 LPs and counting, and enjoys classic car shows, art shows and festivals.
