  • We will provide food and lodging where practical if your bus gets canceled while you are en route to a destination.

  •  Your ticket will be reissued at no cost or fully refunded if the trip is canceled before boarding.

Need real-time updates? Download the Indian Trails Bus Tracker app or call 989-725-5105 (after business hours, select option 5) to speak with a live customer service representative. This service is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m., holidays included.

Seasonal Wonders Await

Winter in Michigan doesn't mean waiting for spring to get out of the house. It means bundling up and leaning in. From glowing art installations to frozen fish tosses, these festivals prove that the best way to beat the cold is to celebrate it.

Riding Indian Trails means no scraping off the car, no treading in the snow and no white-knuckle driving to your destination. Enjoy a warm and comfortable ride with us.

Grand Rapids' World of Winter

Downtown Grand Rapids transforms into one of America's largest winter festivals from January through early March. Wander through parks and pedestrian bridges lit by massive interactive art installations from artists around the world. Watch the Singing Tree light up alongside your voice, step inside a glowing honeycomb that pulses with color and music or say hello to Messie, a purple river monster with 14-foot tentacles. Best experienced after dark, the festival is entirely free and pairs perfectly with the city's 80-plus breweries and the walkable Downtown Refreshment Area.

South Haven's Ice Breaker Fest

The quiet winter streets of this Lake Michigan beach town heat up for the 31st annual Ice Breaker Festival on Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. Stroll downtown as sculptors carve more than 40 blocks of ice, each weighing up to 600 pounds, into frozen works of art. Warm up at fire pits with s'mores and good conversation, cheer on creative contraptions at the cardboard sled race or sample your way through the chili cook-off, where local restaurants compete for the coveted Con Carne Trophy. Horse-drawn wagon rides, outdoor ice skating and the popular Pub Slide round out a weekend of small-town charm.

Hancock's Heikinpäivä

In Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Hancock celebrates the halfway point of winter with Heikinpäivä, a one-of-a-kind Finnish-American festival rooted in Copper Country heritage. The main event falls on the last Saturday of January, when Quincy Street hosts a parade featuring mythical creatures from Finnish folklore. Stick around for the kicksled races, traditional kantele music and a smorgasbord of delicious Finnish treats. Warm up during Sauna Week leading up to the festival or take a cultural workshop on birch bark crafts and rag rug weaving.

Employee Spotlight: Janine Wallace, Office Manager for Michigan Flyer

Janine's and Indian Trails' family trees are deeply intertwined. Her great-great-grandfather and great-grandfather were both bus drivers for the company, and her mother still works as the administrative assistant at the main office. As a middle schooler, Janine would walk to that same office after class, and one day the interline director asked if she wanted a job. The day after her 14th birthday, she started in the interline department.

Janine Wallace

Today, Janine serves as office manager for Michigan Flyer, where the family atmosphere she grew up around is still what she values most. "Everyone has always been very friendly and great to work with," she says. For Janine, being part of a company that has spanned generations of her own family makes the role feel like more than just a job.

Outside of work, Janine is a devoted mom who says being around her kids has made her a better person. She and her daughter have a tradition of dancing together while making meals. A self-described summer outdoor person, Janine loves boating, spending time at the beach, and retreating to her family's cabin at Higgins Lake. When she's not on the water, you might find her on the deck with a good mystery book.
